In our own world.

If you've read Jescel's blog you'll know that her mother passed away yesterday evening Miami time. I've actually just arrived home from dropping her and Joe off at the airport. Just sitting with my friend as she came to realize that her mother was no longer with us (for she is present with the Lord) made me think of a few things.

I have often thought of how we live in our own world. Last night I cooked dinner for my family as my friend learned her mother died. What were you doing? So often we go about our day, mundane, same thing different day while other lives are being changed dramatically. While you sit here reading this blog someone is having a baby, someone has had a car accident, someone is dying...

We don't really think about these things until we're the ones living in the center of these major events of life. Yet every moment of every day there are dramatic changes occuring. Salvation, damnation, new life, a life extinguished all while we wash the dishes or go about our normal, everyday lives.

So some where in the world, at this moment, someone's life has changed in just a matter of seconds. Someone is grieving while someone is washing dishes.
